Ultimate Showdown: Navarro VS. TVCC Cheerleading
January 18, 2022
Laying down in bed while scrolling Netflix for something new to watch, Cheer popped up with a new season which was even more drama-filled than before.
The second season starts off taking you through the 2019-20 season and how the two rival teams prepared for their big face-off at NCA Nationals in Daytona, Fl. Sadly it got cancelled due to Covid, but the show continues on though their 2020-21 season and everything that occurred at the time.
Cheer covers more than the preparations for their competition. The show also goes through all the drama that happened while the show was on break. Cheer-lebrity Jerry Harris was accused of sexual assault with the show featuring a whole episode dedicated to the situation.
Another topic covered was L’Darius Johnson leaving the team plus the disagreement between him and the coaches. As viewers, we get to see both sides of the disagreement and the solution at the end.
On the other side of show, we also get in-depth with their rivals TVCC (Trinity Valley Community College). They used to be the National Champions before Navarro got their stuff together and came along hungry to win their title back.
A big part of the show is the teamwork between fellow cheerleaders and their energy. A big message this season was “Do better,” which means if you want that spot, you have to do it better in order to deserve it.
This illustrates the family atmosphere a cheer team offers plus the hard work that goes into each season.
It’s definitely a must watch if you haven’t seen it yet. Make sure to check it out if you want to know who finally won 2021 NCA Nationals!
