The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword: What the Creative Writing Students are Working on Now
February 8, 2022
The creative writing class at ILS has written everything from short stories to screenwriting. Now the creative writing class is tackling poetry, while the students in creative writing III, are working on the new edition of the Inklings Magazine.
“While working on the magazine, I’ve started to challenge myself to improve with every edition,” said senior Cecilia Sanchez.
The creative writing III students have been working diligently to create new editions of the Inklings Magazine. This month’s theme is all about new beginnings for the new year. The magazine is full of different media, such as art, photography and different types of writing, all centered around new beginnings.
“Right now we are working on a poetry project that deals with learning to recite poetry the correct way and in front of an audience,” commented sophomore Eva De La Torre.
While the creative writing III students are working on the magazine, the creative writing I and II students are working on perfecting their poetry writing and reciting while also writing content for the new edition of the Inklings Magazine.
“I’m starting to learn how to format and organize the magazine, and it has been a good learning experience,” explained senior Katrina Diaz-Balart.
The students in creative writing I, II, and III are creating fun and exciting content for the Inklings Magazine. If you like what you read and see, there are always opportunities to get involved and create content for the magazine for others to enjoy.
