Like the field they call home, seniors Jude Servius, Luis Bodden, and Vashaud Williams have to draw up a new play and run the route to a better future. They might be clueless on what the opposing team has got waiting for them, so all you can really do is trust yourself. It’s all about taking that first step.

Recently, you might’ve caught a glimpse of them signing with Tuskegee University, but what you don’t know is how much weight that paper carries in their lives from here on out.

“I felt like Tuskegee gave me the better chance of the best future. One, it is an HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Second, I got to actually visit the campus, knowing that it’s already historic and getting that sense of excellence all around you. I knew that that was the place I could really thrive,” said Servius.

ILS’s young men got to go on a tour of Tuskegee, and the history behind it captivated each of these three young men. Historic is the campus that they are soon to call theirs, and history is what they plan to leave behind on that very campus. Football is one of their specialties, but education is no joke in their eyes.

“I’m still deciding… I’m trying to get my degree, and a job, and be the next one up to get a degree in my family.” explained Williams.

Being part of a brotherhood has taught them, “Hey, it’s not just about you.” Everything that they have endured has impacted the people around them in unimaginable ways.

It is a truly beautiful thing to witness the positive differences these three young men could have had and will continue to have in every person they associate themselves with, and it’s only a matter of time before you see their impact once they meet the gates of Tuskegee University.
