Vengeance Rings True: The Batman Review

Victoria Betancourt, Editor in Chief

As the designated Royal Courier Robert Pattinson writer, it is my duty and honor to bring you yet another Batman/Robert Pattinson article now that the movie has officially debuted.

The Batman emerged March 4, 2022 and since then its racked up over $605.3 million at the box office. The budget of this film ranges from $185-200 million so it’s safe to say that they definitely reaped a lot of revenue from this single film.

It also has a 8.4/10 on IMDb and an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, showing fans and critics alike loved Matt Reeves’ interpretation of this classic DC hero.

Now, to the main event: Robert Pattinson as Batman. Where do I even start with this magical actor?

Throughout the whole movie, you can truly see the man behind the mystery as we start to understand why Batman is the way that he is. Plus, his on-screen chemistry with Zoë Kravitz (Cat Woman) was absolutely irresistible. During there scenes, you can sense the tension through the screen, and when they finally kissed, you could hear a pin drop.

In the end when (spoiler alert) the Riddler (Paul Dano) is finally caught, we get a scene with him within his jail cell making a new connection with someone we have already seen before in the movies. This hints at a next movie in the series with possible speculation of a possible team up or new big bad.

The twists and turns within this movie make the run time of two hours and 56 minutes worth it all. Although the movie can be slow at times, it picks up very quickly and comes at you full force once again.

The best part of this movie is not the action or relationships, but the way it tells the story. Instead of it being your typical action movie, it is much more of a mystery and detective movie which fits the theme and tone of the movie as a whole, and pieces it together.

If this is telling of DC’s 2022 line up or general Batman series in the future, fans are finally going to be fed with the content they’ve been wanting for years, if not decades to come.
