When sophomore Mia Marquez was growing up, she found that her hair gave her the nickname
“Strawberry Shortcake.”

“My hair changed as I got older from a light strawberry color to the darker color it is now,” she said.

“I’m one of two redheads of my family. It got passed down from my great grandmother,” Marquez clarified.

“My family is mostly guys. I’m one of two girls in my family. They are a lot rougher and stronger, but one thing’s for sure is that they’ll always be there for you.”

Marquez then commented with a smile, “Since I can remember, I’ve always been told I look like Strawberry Shortcake,” (The character) she concluded.
