Everything You Need to Know for Homecoming Week

Homecoming is right around the corner and here are some things you need to know.

Homecoming Week is when everyone gathers to celebrate school pride and spirit.

Students and faculty dress down as they recognize the school as a whole to create a safe and amusing environment.

Students in each class come together to create a skit to perform in front of the entire school. During F-block, everyone unites in the gym to participate in activities, like competitions against each class, and to show class pride.

At the end of the week, Friday, October 21st, there will be a football game at 7 pm. During half time, an MC will announce the class prince and princess as well as the Homecoming King and Queen. At the end of the game, there is parade that takes the class royalty around the track.

Saturday, October 22nd, there will be the a Homecoming Dance at the Bayshore Ballroom form 7 to 11 pm. Girls must have their dresses approved by the SGA office in order to attend the dance. Girls must take their dress to the SGA office October 12-14 to have them approved.

If any student is bringing a date from another school, he or she must email sgamoderators@ilsroyals.com to provide them with the name of their date, and their date’s personal email. Their date should also be aware of the dress code or he or she will not be permitted to attend.

The dress code for the girls is: cocktail/semi-formal dress or pant suit. The dress should be at the knee or no more than three inches above it, feature no excessive cleavage, no super low backs, slits cannot be less than three inches above the knee, no cutouts, and lastly, sheer material is allowed, but it cannot be more than two inches in width around the bodice, and it must have an underlay.

Boys are not allowed to wear sneakers or jeans, and must wear a collared shirt and a suit jacket.
