Christmas is just around the corner and its that time when you grab your favorite Christmas onesie or ugly sweater and some hot chocolate with marshmallows and watch some Christmas classics.

So, here’s my list of the top-10 Christmas movies:

10. “The Nightmare Before Christmas”: It is an ongoing debate as to whether or not this is a Christmas movie or a Halloween movie, but it works for both seasons, bringing just the right amount of laughs and scares to make it on this top 10 list.

9. “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”: With comedic genius Chevy Chase as the main character of this story, nothing can go wrong, yet everything does! You just can’t stop laughing once you watch this movie as it depicts everything that can go berserk on Christmas.

8. “Die Hard”: Some may not consider Die Hard a Christmas movie, but nothing says Christmas more than watching Bruce Willis defeat professor Snape. It truly captures the spirit of Christmas.

7. “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”: A live-action version of the original animated movie. “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” will have you in stitches from laughing so hard. Jim Carrey brought out all the stops to play the Grinch, executing it flawlessly. This is a beautiful movie with both laughs and cries to get you into the holiday spirit.

6. “White Christmas”: This is a classic. Plain and simple. It never fails to deliver the Christmas spirit. With its famous song “White Christmas” that was sung by none other than Bing Crosby himself, who also stars in the movie. It is a timeless movie that will be known as a classic Christmas movie for generations to come.

5. “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer”: This movie really needs no explanation; its the classic tale of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer that always delivers a warm “Christmasy”feeling in your heart. It also has a strong message to never judge a book by its cover.

4. “A Charlie Brown Christmas”: Yet another classic that just makes you want to wrap yourself in the thickest blankets and sip some hot chocolate. This movie just emulates Christmas in all its perfectness.

3. “The Polar Express”: This movie is just outstanding, not just for its imaginative plot, but also for the way in which it was produced. Actor Tom Hanks played three separate characters in this movie with the most recognizable being the train conductor. This movie is perfect in its attention to detail leaving you thinking you could smell the hot chocolate.

2. “Elf”: This movie was in a terrible tie for first, but I had to place it second. This movie is just a rollercoaster of laughs and emotions. It brings Buddy’s innocence into the real world and perfectly encapsules the Christmas soul.

1. “Home Alone”: This is my all-time favorite Christmas movie. It is every boy’s little dream of being alone for Christmas and defending his home. This movie plays the audiences emotions perfectly and leaves them with that warm Christmas feeling on the inside.
