SALTT is a special club here at ILS that gives back to the community, and during the holiday season in particular, members give their time to prepare a special day for kids around Florida.

“SALTT trips are a lot of fun! It’s a way for ILS students to realize that there are people who are less fortunate and live different lives than we do and gives them a chance to feel what helping someone else feels like. We give little kids a chance to feel heard and loved which they don’t get often. It’s a very heartwarming experience. This SALTT trip was to spread Christmas cheer! We gave them many different activities to do like making gingerbread houses, fake snow, and a chance to meet Santa. My favorite thing about SALTT is meeting little kids who have gone through so much in their lives and still are so loving and open to do anything with a smile on their face,” said Pierina Santeusanio, a member.

Joining SALTT is a great idea for anyone who likes or wants to serve their community. Things like this make these kid’s day much better and the members leave with new friendships as they leave the kids with a smile on their faces.

These special memories will stay with these kids for a very long time.
