Was Cristiano Ronaldo’s Move to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr a Wise Choice?

Cristiano Ronaldo recently became the highest-paid player in soccer history when he signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Al Nassr which will earn him £173 million ($210m) a year.
Signaling that his time in Europe has come to an end, Ronaldo said, “I’m so proud to make this big decision in my life, in football. As you mentioned before, in Europe my work, it’s done. I won everything.”
“I played in the most important clubs in Europe and for me now, it’s a new challenge,” he added.
He then revealed that he had a number of clubs from around the world that attempted to sign him. Clubs such as Europe, Brazil, Australia, the U.S. and even in Portugal tried to land him
“Many clubs tried to sign me, but I gave the word to this club for the opportunity. I’m a unique player so it’s good coming here. I beat all the records there so I want to beat a few records here as well,” he said.
Even though he had a disappointing Qatar 2022 in Portugal, Ronaldo became the first man to score in five World Cups.
“I feel that this move was a smart move because this move means he gets more money,” said junior Joshua Lopez.
The moment Ronaldo made the choice to leave United, his agent set out to find him a new club. He called Real Madrid several times during the summer to offer Ronaldo’s participation for the team, but no proposal to bring him back was forthcoming. Other clubs rejected invitations to sign Ronaldo. In August, Florentino Perez was asked about the prospect of Ronaldo returning to Madrid; however, his age came into play. Al Nassr tried to sign Ronaldo, though very few people in Riyadh were convinced that it could actually happen. Saudi Arabian FA president Yasser Almisehal has said that he would love to see Ronaldo move to the Saudi Pro League.
