I’m sure many of us who have any kind of social media app have seen something about the Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber drama.

For those who haven’t, let me give you a run down. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had an on-and-off romance that lasted from 2010 until 2018, remembered as one of the most famous on-off romances in Hollywood.

In the midst of this on and off relationship, Justin Bieber dated Hailey Baldwin from December 2015- March 2016. This short relationship quickly ended with Justin returning to Selena.

Selena and Justin called it quits for good in May of 2018. Then suddenly, in July of 2018 Justin proposed to Hailey.

Now, this may just seem like a crazy love triangle, but where is the actual drama? Well, it’s begins with Hailey Baldwin and Justin Biebers first meet in 2009. Justin and Hailey met as young teens at an event Justin held.

After this meet, Hailey seemed to develop an obsession with the pop star. Images, tweets, and posts of her discussing her love for the “Jelena” ( Justin and Selena) relationship, holding magazines of Justin, and simply being behind Justin in photos more than frequently.

The media labeled this young Hailey as “obsessed” with Justin. Along with this, Hailey also seems to have grown an obsession with Selena Gomez. She has been photographed copying outfits of the singer, copying tattoos, jewelry, and even phrases/ things Selena says.

In October of 2022, Selena and Hailey posed together at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles for their first ever picture together. Many believe this picture was intended to show the peace between the two and show that their messy pasts don’t affect them now. This seemed to have worked as the media created drama seemed to slow down and they seemed to be out of the spotlight, that is, for a few months.

A video of Hailey making a disgusted face at the name of Taylor Swift while hosting the show, “drop the mic” has resurfaced. Taylor happens to be Selena’s best friend. Then, Selena Gomez came to her friend Taylor Swift’s rescue by commenting, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game” (via Pop Crave). Gomez has since deleted her TikTok account, taking the comment with her.

All of this comes amid a whole lot more drama also involving Gomez and Bieber, as well as Kylie Jenner. It all seems very complicated, but it all started when Gomez said on TikTok, “I accidentally laminated my brows too much,” while sharing a video of her eyebrows.

Then, just hours later, Kylie Jenner posted a selfie on her Instagram Stories with the words, “this was an accident ????” written over her eyebrows, followed by a screenshot of a FaceTime with Hailey Bieber, in which they’re both zooming onto their eyebrows.

After a TikTok user pointed out this series of events, Jenner herself commented, “this is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.” Gomez responded, “Agreed @kyliejenner It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!” (marieclaire.com).

Amid all of this, Hailey has been labeled a “mean girl” and “bully.” Justin has chosen to stay out of the drama and has yet to come out and show any support for his wife.
