In Miami there’s always something going on. Fall is an exciting season for many. Even thought Miami has its natural sunny/ summer look, it still has many activities to offer. From pumpkin patches, to festivals, concerts, haunted houses, and carnivals, there is always something going on..
Sophmore Ale Alvarez is a big fan of the fall season.
“I like going to the Miami carnival. It’s from October 1-8. It features elaborate costumes, a costumed parade and concert,” she said.
This event alone fetches visitors and participants from all over the world, who are utterly eager to celebrate Caribbean culture.
Senior Ashley Fonseca loves the Halloween season.
“I like going to the Pumpkin Patch at Hope Miami Lakes United Methodist Church. It gives me the Halloween vibe and I always enjoy going to it with friends and family,” she said.
Open daily from September 30 through Halloween, Hope Miami Lakes offers baked goods, weekend magic shows, gourmet hot dogs, shaved ice, face painting, balloon creations and plenty of opportunities to snap that great fall photo. Other activities for kids include a playground with tunnels and landings, an obstacle course, and even a corn maze.
Sophmore Gianluca Sperman loves watching movies this time of year, but with a twist.
“Every fall season I always go with my friends to watch an outdoor movie. Doing this always reminds me of fall,” he said.
City parks regularly host movie nights throughout the fall months, as do neighborhoods with outdoor plazas like the Miami Design District. Drive-ins also have become popular, providing another fun movie option this year.
Other things you can do in Miami this fall season with friends or family include:
- Everglades adventure
- Nature walks
- Catch a Miami Dolphins game or your favorite Miami college match
- Farmers’ market
- Outdoor dining
- Picnics
- Art Basel
- Beach days

While Miami may not have the classical fall experience, it offers a unique blend of culture, nature, and outdoor activities during this season.
