Immaculata-La Salle celebrated their annual Winter Formal dance last Friday at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Miami.

This year’s Winter Formal was Passport to Asia theme which included beautiful decorations all over the venue. Formal is an event inclusive to all grades and any student could bring a guest with them. Not only students could attend, but also teachers.

The students were promised a special guest performance which had a lot students very eager to see who it was. Rumors went around that Pitbull was going to come perform.

The special guest performance was a group of dancers with Chinese dragons. Many people agreed it was very nice to be able to see a cultural Chinese dance that matched our theme.

When Alyssa Vega was asked what her favorite part of Formal was she commented, “My favorite part of winter formal was how everyone came together and danced with each other.”

Formal is a great place for you and your friends to just have fun together. Most people don’t get to dress up often so that is one of the many perks of attending Winter Formal. For the girls it becomes an all day process of getting your hair and make up done which is not something the average person get to experience.

Lauren Alvarez was also asked what her expectations were for the formal and if they were exceeded.

“I expected it to be very fun and very colorful in the room and yeah it did the performances and the decorations were amazing and everyone was dancing so it was so much fun,” said Alvarez.

Luckily, we have our school’s SGA to plan everything in advance as well as many of the teachers. Months of planning goes into all of the Winter Formal and it shows because of how prepared they are.
