Four Christmases Movie Review
December 17, 2019
The 2008 movie, “Four Christmases,” directed by Seth Gordon is a comedic drama about a couple who is visiting all four of their divorced parents families on Christmas Day. The movie stars Vince Vaughn as Brad and Rees Witherspoon as Kate.
Brad and Kate are a couple from San Francisco who both come from obnoxious families that consist of divorced parents and crazy siblings that have even crazier kids. They try to leave to Fiji for the holiday in order to avoid their families, but they get stuck in the city due to a fog.
Later, the couple has no other option but to join their families for Christmas. They thought that visiting their four families would have been a night, are, but it actually turned out better than they thought.
As the day progresses Kate and Brad learn new things about each other which makes Kate want to get married and have children with Brad, even though Brad is disgusted by the idea. In the end he had a change of hear without Kate knowing and asked her to marry her.
The movie ends a year later from their Christmas adventure when Brad and Kate welcome their first child to meet the family.
I believe this movie is a good light hearted Christmas movie that has great actors and characters, but does lack more development in the plot. It doesn’t go into too much detail and depth, but it is definitely a good movie to have a laugh about.
Reese Witherspoon stole the show more than Vince Vaughn, but the dysfunctional family members were the most fun about the movie,
Overall I would recommend this movie to someone who is looking for a way to pass time, but it is nothing out of the ordinary.
