ILS recently held its annual Fèra Latina, a joyful celebration of Latin cultures. The event brought together students, families, and staff to honor the rich traditions of Latin America and Spain.
The day began with a special morning Mass which gave a sense of love and appreciation for the community. Following Mass, the school’s dance team took to the court, performing lively traditional dance routines that amazed the audience. Their energetic movements highlighted the beauty of Latin culture.
“My second year attending Féria Latina and I love it so much. I never fail to have fun,” said sophomore Amanda Whittaker.
A key part of Feria Latina was the delicious selection of Latin food. Students contributed a variety of dishes, including various dishes and snacks from the different cultures. Students and faculty enjoyed sampling these tasty treats while learning about their cultural significance, making mealtime a highlight of the event.

For those who wanted to stay active, soccer games were organized throughout the day. Students of all grades participated, showcasing their skills while enjoying friendly competition. The soccer matches added a fun, energetic element to the celebration, bringing everyone together at the end of the day.
“Féria Latina is my favorite school event we have. My favorite part of it was making the bracelets,” said Sophomore Khloe Guerra.
The event also featured arts and crafts stations where students could create bracelets inspired by Latin cultures. This fun activity allowed everyone to express their creativity and learn more about the culture.
Feria Latina was a wonderful opportunity for ILS’ community to come together, celebrate diversity, and learn from one another. As the day concluded, students left early with happy hearts and full bellies. The success of this yearly event reinforces the school’s commitment to honoring cultural diversity in a meaningful and engaging way.
