Although Halloween is a fun occasion for individuals of all ages, some activities grow out of style. The most popular part of Halloween is trick-or-treating but aside from that, what else can you do to celebrate the holiday?
Pumpkin carving is an easy activity you can take on with your friends and family. Currently, a popular trend going around includes carving silly faces onto pumpkins. If that’s not your, vibe you can follow the original custom of carving a spooky jack-o-lantern.
“I love carving pumpkins during Halloween season. Sometimes I put on my favorite Halloween movie and carve pumpkins with my family. I carved my Halloween pumpkins recently and they came out great,” said sophomore Sophie Yetming.
Since it’s the spooky season, a great activity would be going to a haunted house. There are many malls and parks all over Miami hosting haunted house events. These attractions often include realistic scare actors, eerie decorations, and multiple houses in one event making it a great scare to experience with your friends.
“My favorite Halloween tradition, aside from trick-or-treating, would probably be going to haunted mazes and houses with my friends. Haunted mazes are especially fun because you have to find you way around,” said sophomore Raffaella Mandis.
If your more into history and all things scary, you could participate in a ghost tour. This includes visiting supposedly “haunted” towns and buildings. It’s a fun way to learn about local legends and ghost stories.
“I like hearing about historical and spooky things, I find it really interesting. For his Halloween, I want to find some historical haunted attraction to go to in Miami,” said sophomore Vittorio Buttice.
Overall, it’s highly recommended that this year you try something different on Halloween, maybe even consider starting a new tradition for you and your loved ones.
