Hi Blindsided!
It sounds like you’ve got a big jungle mess on your hands. But something we always stick to here in the savannah is that our pride is way more important than any silly little political debate. In these situations, it’s best to untangle the mess by being respectful and open-minded when listening to what your lion peers have to say. If things get a little too wild, it’s good to switch the conversation to something a little lighter.
It’s important to know that losing a friendship over differing political beliefs is not worth it. You and your pride aren’t defined by what you stand for. In our jungle, one thing we like to go by is “agree to disagree.”
When dealing with these sensitive topics, it’s important to remember that sometimes silence is the mightiest roar you can have. Remember, you’re no longer a cub, but now a big, fierce lion. If you don’t have anything nice to say, it’s best to not say anything at all.
And never forget that the king of our jungle, God, should be our leading example for handling these situations. He never judged anyone, and He wouldn’t want us to either. To walk in His paws, it’s important to know we’re all brothers and sisters and should be united, not divided.
This Biblical passage taken from the Gospel of Matthew helps us better understand how to listen with an open heart and get through any complications.
Keep roaring loud and proud, Blindsided in Brickell!
