The new lion king live action movie about Mufasa has recently come out after they released the live action version back in 2019.
Mufasa: The Lion King is actually a prequel to the Lion King.
This movie sets up Scar and Mufasa’s past relationship and showcases how close they used to be and how much they turned away from each other.
A prequel to a movie is something that explains the backstory in the original movie by being set before the original took place and can be used to fix plot holes or if used wrongly to create ones.
The PLOT Thickens
Scar, formerly named Taka, finds Mufasa alone and abandoned by his pack and takes pity on him when they were both cubs.
“The movie, judging by the trailers, just looks so forced to make it seem like one of those unnecessary live actions,” said sophomore Matthew Tirador.
Taka turns out to be the heir the king and they grow up together for a couple years, but they eventually have a falling out when they are older.
Scar, being jealous of Mufasa, feels like he is in his shadow while he is the one who brought Mufasa in, and wants to gain more power.
Mufasa, despite not being from their pack, gets first in line for the throne because of commendable traits Scar’s father believes Mufasa has and Scar does not.
Scar betrays Mufasa because he firmly believes he deserves the throne more and is furious Mufasa became first in line to get it which lead to their clash.
