Disney is gearing up for an exciting new project, a live-action remake of its beloved 2010 animated hit Tangled.The film, which follows the magical adventures of Rapunzel, a princess with extraordinarily long hair, became a box office success and soon a fan favorite.
The live-action adaptation will be directed by Michael Gracey, known for his work on The Greatest Showman. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who contributed to Thor: Love and Thunder and Do Revenge, is writing the screenplay. The film will modernize the classic tale while staying true to its magical and adventurous roots.
“When I was little, my favorite Disney movie was Tangled,” shared sophomore Carolina Castillo.
Though Disney has not yet revealed the official cast, speculation has already begun. Mandy Moore, who voiced Rapunzel in the original film, has expressed her support for actress Sabrina Carpenter to take on the live-action role. Carpenter’s strong voice and acting skills make her a top choice among fans. Additionally, some rumors suggest that Florence Pugh, an Academy Award-nominated actress, could also be considered for the role of Rapunzel.
”I’m so excited for this movie to be released!” said sophomore Gabriela Punzo.
The upcoming film is part of Disney’s ongoing trend of reimagining its classic animated movies as live-action films. Recent remakes such as The Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast, have been met with both commercial success and mixed reactions from audiences. Still, Disney continues to recreate these animated classics with fresh takes for new generations.
“I am so excited for this movie to be released. I’m a big fan of the Disney, live-action movies,” said sophomore Mia Casanueva.
