With energy and determination, the Girls Volleyball team kicks off their season, eager to overcome new challenges and build on the momentum from last year’s successes.
Last year, the Varsity team finished strong with an impressive 18-6 record and is looking forward to building on that success in the season. So far this season, they have a record of 3-0 (3 wins, 0 losses) having won every game so far by 3, showing no signs of stopping.
The Junior Varsity ended their 2024–25 season with an impressive 12–4 record, but they need to stay focused, as they are currently 2–4 this season. Their most recent game came against Carrollton ended in a 2–0 loss. The girls are looking to bounce back.
Dario Lamas, one of the star Boys Volleyball Varsity players last year, is the manager for the Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity.
“The season so far has been pretty good. Although we have had a rough start to the season, there is a lot of potential on the team, and I think we can do really well this year,” he said.
Sophomore Camila Plehn, a key player on our Junior Varsity squad who plays DS (Defensive Specialist) is optimistic.
“The season so far has been good and really fun. We just played on Tuesday against Carrollton,” she recalled.
Sophomore Chiara Nerguizian represents ILS on the Junior Varsity team.
“The season’s been a lot of fun so far. We’ve had our wins and losses, but we always try to bounce back from the tough games. I think we have a lot of great players on our team. Everyone in the volleyball community has been really kind and welcoming as well,” she said.
The Girls Volleyball teams are building momentum and showing great potential. With hard work and teamwork, they’re ready to face challenges and make this season a success.
But will they be able to do better than last year’s teams? Stay tuned.
