Hello, ILS,
Here’s your most recent sports flash!
Volleyball: Girls VB had a busy week. They dropped their first match at the week in straight sets to a tough Florida Chrisitan team. They also attended the Florida Gem Volleyball tournament in Wesley Chaple, Fl (Tampa). The Royals showed grit and growth this weekend at the prestigious Florida Gem. After winning the Club Division title last year, the team earned a promotion to the highly competitive Open Division—the tournament’s toughest bracket featuring some of the top programs from across the state.
Despite stepping into deeper waters, the girls rose to the challenge and finished with a 2-3 record, securing impressive victories over Harrison Forrest High School and Port Charlotte High School, both in tightly contested 2-1 matches. Each win demonstrated the team’s resilience, composure under pressure, and commitment to improving against top-tier competition.
While the weekend presented its share of challenges, the team walked away stronger and more unified, gaining valuable experience that will serve them well as the season progresses. The players and coaches are already focused on building on this performance and continuing to push their game to the next level.
The future is bright, and the work continues. Go Royals!
