Get ready, Royals! Immaculata-La Salle is turning the spotlight on “Royals: The Musical” for this year’s Homecoming Week from October 6–11, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting weeks of the year. Each day has a unique theme that lets students show off their creativity, school pride, and musical spirit.
The week starts strong on Monday, October 6 with Color Wars! Every grade will dress up in their class color and go head-to-head for the Color Wars Cup during F-block. There’s also a sweet bonus — pops for just $1 after school!
Tuesday brings Tunes Day, where each class gets to dress up according to a music genre. Freshmen are pop, sophomores are house, juniors are country, and seniors are rock.
“I think Tunes Day is going to be one of the most fun themes,” said freshman Joaquina Romaszkiewicz. “It’s a creative way to show off everyone’s style and see how each grade represents their genre.”
Next up is Musical Wednesday, when students dress as characters from their class musical. Expect to see everything from Hairspray and Hamilton to Mamma Mia and Grease. Plus, there will be live skits during the Pep Rally to really bring the musicals to life on stage.
Things get wild on Thursday with Tacky Thursday, a favorite among students. The goal is to wear the craziest, most mismatched outfit you can come up with.
“I can’t wait to see everyone’s outfits on Tacky Thursday,” said sophomore and cheerleader Aspen Fernandez. “It’s the perfect way to make people laugh and spread positive energy during Homecoming Week.”
Finally, Royal Friday is all about showing off school pride in green and gold! The Green & Gold Pep Rally will wrap up the week with cheers, performances, and a big burst of Royal spirit before the Homecoming Game: ILS vs. Miami Springs.
“The pep rally is always my favorite part,” said sophomore and SALTT member Mia Russumano. “It’s when the whole school comes together, and you can really feel the Royal pride.”
And of course, it all ends with the Wicked Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 11, promising a night full of music, memories, and magic.
Homecoming Week is always one of the most exciting times at ILS, and this year’s musical theme is giving every Royal a chance to take center stage. Whether you’re rocking your class color, showing off a tacky outfit, or dancing the night away, one thing’s for sure — the Royals are ready to shine!
