Wellness Day 2026 gave Royals the opportunity to step away from their usual routine and focus on their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Instead of just taking a break, students chose one experience to help them reset and reconnect.
One of the most popular activities was the Therapy Dog Visit where students spent time with certified therapy dogs. Even a few minutes of petting and playing helped lower stress levels and boost moods, creating smiles across campus.
The Staff vs. Student Kickball Game brought energy and laughter to the field. Friendly competition and school spirit were on full display as students and teachers faced off, strengthening community bonds.
Students looking for calm and creativity found it in the Creative Calm Session, where coloring, journaling, and soft music created a peaceful space to slow down and reflect. Similarly, Chapel Time offered quiet prayer and spiritual renewal, allowing students to reconnect with their faith in a meaningful way.
In the Marian Courtyard, a picnic-style relaxation space gave friends time to sit together, talk, and simply enjoy being present. Meanwhile, the Gratitude & Encouragement Wall filled quickly with positive messages, reminding everyone of the power of kind words.
Another one of the most popular events this year was the EmpowHER Wellness Yoga Event. It offered a meaningful space for the girls of ILS to celebrate International Women’s Day through movement, reflection, and community. Participants took part in a guided yoga session focused on strength and inner calm, while also supporting Lotus House, which is a local nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and children. Along with the class, students received event shirts, açaí bowls, and small gifts, making the experience both uplifting and impactful.
Sophomore Olivia Rodriguez-Salum said, “The yoga session was such a fun experience. It was a great way to relax, stretch, and spend time with friends.”
For those who wanted to stay active in a more relaxed setting, Beach Volleyball encouraged students to relieve stress through physical activity. And the DIY Incense station combined creativity and intention, allowing students to blend scents.
Finally, the Japanese Spring Festival brought culture and celebration to campus. With a Super Smash Bros tournament, snacks, collaborative art, and a Drumline performance, the festival highlighted creativity and community in a vibrant way.
Overall, Wellness Day was more than just time off from class, it was a reminder that recharging together strengthens the entire Royal community.
