Hello ILS,
The season has officially concluded. Please read below the final results from the spring season.
Track and Field: FHSAA Track & Field State Championships: Pablo Aldecoa Makes History as State Champion in the 400M Hurdles
History was made for the Immaculata-La Salle track and field program this weekend as Pablo Aldecoa captured the FHSAA State Championship in the 400M hurdles with a winning time of 54.86 seconds. Aldecoa becomes just the second individual state champion in school track and field history and the first since the program’s only previous state title won by a pole vaulter in 1992.
Aldecoa’s championship performance highlighted an outstanding showing by the Royal Lions on the state stage, with multiple athletes earning top finishes and school pride throughout the meet.
On the boys side, Daniel Marin finished 11th in the 100M dash with a time of 10.95 seconds. The boys 4×100 relay team of Tavarus Jones, Trayton Jones, Pablo Aldecoa, and Daniel Marin placed 10th overall with a time of 42.12 seconds. The boys 4×400 relay squad of Tyrone Williams, Daniel Brito, Martin Plaza, and Pablo Aldecoa earned a 12th place finish in 3:24.69.
For the girls, Krystal Inhoof had an impressive state meet, placing 9th in the long jump with a mark of 5.32 meters and earning a 4th place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 11.48 meters, narrowly missing the podium. The girls 4×100 relay team of Sienna Rios, Frida Acevedo, Abrielle Meyer, and Krystal Inhoof finished 17th in the state with a time of 50.24 seconds.
The Royal Lions closed out the season with one state champion, multiple state qualifiers, and several top-15 finishes against the best competition in Florida, marking one of the strongest overall performances in program history.
Boys Volleyball: Tough end to a great season for our Boys Volleyball team, falling in the Regional Semifinals. We’re proud of the fight, effort, and growth this group showed all year long.
This group accomplished a tremendous amount over the past two seasons, winning back-to-back District Championships and making back-to-back Regional Semifinal appearances, including a Regional Final appearance last year.
The future is extremely bright for the program with only two seniors graduating and a strong core returning next season. Thank you to our seniors for their leadership and commitment to ILS Volleyball, and congratulations to the entire team on an outstanding season!
