Here’s your Sunday sports report and upcoming sport schedule.

Golf: The ILS boys and girls golf teams got the season off to a strong start with impressive performances against MAST and Westminster!
Quentin Blanchet led all players with a score of 38, and Sofia Olarte led with a 41 to help guide the Royals to victories vs MAST.
Freshman Ella Doreste led the field with a remarkable 1-over-par round of 36. Sophia Estrada and Sofia Olarte also posted excellent rounds of 39 each. The girls won back-to-back matches to open the season for the first time in program history!
The boys came up just short against Westminster, with Federico Gil and Connor Heilemann leading the way with rounds of 42. A great opening week for both teams!
Next week, the Royal Lions take on MAST and Columbus as we continue the season!
Volleyball: It’s been a challenging start to the season for our Royals, dropping our first two matches to American Heritage Plantation and Mater Brickell Academy.
This is a young team that is still learning to play together, find its rhythm, and build chemistry on the court. While the results haven’t been what we wanted early on, we know this group has plenty of room to grow and we’re confident that growth will come with every practice, every match, and every opportunity to compete.
The season is just getting started. They’ll continue to work, improve, and get better together.
Football: ROYALS TAKE DOWN BOOKER T. 33–14
The Royals struck first as Deon Thomas hauled in an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jaziel Polanco to give ILS the early lead. Booker T. Washington responded with a touchdown of their own, but the Royals quickly answered.
Darrell Godfrey broke loose for a 44-yard rushing touchdown, putting the Royals back in front. Tyrone Williams then added to the lead with a 20-yard touchdown reception from Polanco.
The Royals continued to control the game as Jaylen Wilson powered his way into the end zone on a 9-yard touchdown run. Torrance Jones capped off the Royals’ scoring with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Polanco, giving ILS a 33–14 victory.
Defensively the team was in mid-season form. Only allowing 14 points (7 first half and 7 in the second). Jaylen Wilson led the way with tackles with 7. Christopher Spikes added 6 tackles while Samonte Blucher added 5 tackles. Jaidyn Rump had 2 sacks while Khalid Pinkstong added 1 sack.
A complete team effort from start to finish. The Royals move forward with another strong performance as they continue to Raise the Royal Standard!

Football team hosts St. John Neumann for the Salesian bowl! Game kicks off at 7:00PM in the JUNGLE!
Golf hosts Columbus at Crandon Park, 3PM tee time.
