As fall approaches, pumpkin flavors start making their way back into seasonal desserts. Chewy pumpkin cookies offer a way to bring fall flavors into a homemade treat. With pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and white chocolate, these cookies mix different flavors into one dessert.

Making the cookies starts by combining softened butter with brown sugar before adding egg yolks, vanilla, and pumpkin purée. The dry ingredients are then added to create the cookie dough, and then the white chocolate chips. Brown sugar helps give the cookies a chewy texture, while the pumpkin provides the dough a seasonal flavor. Once the dough is ready, the cookies can be prepared for baking.

After baking, the cookies develop a golden color while pieces of white chocolate remain visible. They are then left to cool, which allows them to set properly while still keeping their soft and chewy texture. The final result is a soft pumpkin cookie with a combination of warm spices.
“I really liked the white chocolate chips because they added sweetness and went really well with the pumpkin flavor. I would bake these at home,” said senior Valentina Rodriguez.

The finished cookies show that making a seasonal dessert does not have to be complicated. Pumpkin and warm spices give a traditional cookie a fall flavor and makes the recipe different from an everyday batch of cookies. This makes the cookie an option for anyone looking to try something different during the fall season.

“I would definitely eat them again because they tasted homemade and had a good balance between the pumpkin and white chocolate,” said senior Luna Morales said.
Following the process step by step makes these cookies manageable even for students who do not bake often. From preparing the ingredients to seeing the finished batch, the recipe shows that making a homemade fall dessert does not have to be complicated. In the end, it gives students a simple way to try baking for themselves and create something they can share and savor with others.
