Two weeks into the 2026 NFL season, the race for the Super Bowl is already beginning to take shape. While there is still a long way to go, several teams have started the season strong, while others are already trying to recover from slow starts. The Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles have all started the season 2-0, giving fans an early look at some of the teams that could compete for a playoff spot. Although it is too early to know who will make the Super Bowl, these teams have already given fans plenty of reasons to pay attention.
The Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers have especially caught the attention of junior Alejandro Feria. Seattle has remained undefeated despite quarterback Sam Darnold dealing with an injury, while San Francisco has also started 2-0.
“I feel like the Seahawks still have a good team, even with Sam Darnold injured. He might come back sooner than expected,” Ale said. “The 49ers have done a lot of trades this offseason and have been looking good in the first couple of weeks, better than the others,” he added.
The 49ers have looked strong early in the season, while Seattle has shown that it can continue competing even while dealing with injuries.
Another team that has surprised fans early in the season is the Carolina Panthers. After struggling in recent years, Carolina has shown improvement and currently has a 1-1 record. Quarterback Bryce Young has also been an important part of the Panthers’ offense. Junior Christian Perez said the Panthers have been the biggest revelation to him so far.
“The team that has surprised me the most is the Carolina Panthers because they have been bad for the last couple of years. They rebuilt their team, and they have been playing well. Bryce Young is balling out,” Christian said. “The Panthers still have a lot to prove, but their early performance has given their fans more hope for the season,” he added.
The Los Angeles Rams are another team that could become part of the Super Bowl conversation. After making the playoffs last season, the Rams are 1-1 and are coming off a strong 28-6 victory over the New York Giants. Junior Nicholas Quiroz believes the Rams are a team that should not be overlooked because of the talent on their roster.
“I think the Rams are a team people are sleeping on because they have a good roster and can compete with anyone when they play at their best,” Nicholas said. While teams such as the Bills and Chiefs have received a lot of attention, the Rams could become a team to watch as the season continues.
On the other side, some teams have struggled early. The Miami Dolphins are 0-2 after losses to the Indianapolis Colts, and San Francisco 49ers, while other teams are also looking for their first wins. However, two weeks is not enough to determine how an entire season will end. Injuries, trades, and changes in performance can completely alter the NFL standings. With the season continuing, the playoff picture will become clearer as teams get more chances to prove whether they can make a run toward the Super Bowl.
