ILS’s Varsity Volleyball team faced Mater Brickell Academy in a competitive match filled with energy, teamwork, and determination. From the first serve, both teams played hard and fought for every point. La Salle worked to stay focused and keep the game close, but Mater Brickell was able to build momentum throughout the match.
One moment captured during the game shows senior Sophie Prado preparing to serve the ball, while Lis Lopez is positioned nearby and ready for the play. Sophie is focused on the ball as she gets ready to send it over the net. Her concentration shows how important every serve can be during a game. Behind every serve is a chance to score a point, put pressure on the other team, and help the team gain momentum. Lis is also ready to react to whatever happens next, showing how volleyball depends on teammates working together.
Throughout the match, ILS continued to fight and encourage each other. The players communicated on the court, celebrated good plays, and stayed together even when things did not go their way. Every serve, pass, set, and hit gave the team another opportunity to turn the game around.
In the end, Mater Brickell Academy won the varsity match 3–0. Although La Salle did not get the result they wanted, the team continued competing until the final point. The loss gave the players a chance to learn from the game and see what they could improve before their next match.
The picture of Sophie serving captures one of those moments when La Salle stayed focused and continued to compete.Volleyball is about more than just the final score. It is about trusting your teammates, staying focused under pressure, and continuing to give your best effort. Even after the loss, La Salle can take the experience from this game and use it as motivation moving forward.
