Every single day on ILS campus, maintenance staff members work quietly yet vigorously behind the scenes to keep school operations running smoothly. Among them is Ms. Caridad Benet, a very dedicated staff member whose steady work ethic and warm presence make a lasting impact on students and faculty across the school community.
Originally from Cuba, Ms. Benet relocated to Florida with her children and currently resides in Miami Beach. Each morning, she commutes up to an hour to reach campus early. Working a long, weekly schedule from 5:30 a.m. until late in the afternoon, her essential responsibilities include organizing facilities, maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria, and taking care of shared campus spaces.
Despite the early start times and demanding physical workload, Ms. Benet carries out her daily routine with constant energy, love, dedication, and care.
“What I enjoy most about working at the school is interacting with all of the students and keeping everything clean and organized for all the people here,” she said Caridad Benet.
Her ability to maintain a bright disposition while having to manage campus facilities has earned a strong appreciation from students who notice her challenging work every day.
“She is always working around campus, but no matter how busy she gets, she always greets everyone with a genuine smile,” said sophomore Mateo Lartigue.
For Ms. Benet, maintaining a helpful and cheerful attitude is an intentional choice that defines how she approaches both her job responsibilities and personal life.
Her quiet dedication, long morning commute, and uplifting perspective serve as an inspiring example to everyone on how individual effort keeps the entire ILS school environment thriving daily
