The freshmen class has elected its first Student Government Association members (SGA).

The day began with an introduction and explanation regarding the various positions within SGA.  Interested students formulated speeches and selling points as to why they would be a good fit for the job.

They then delivered in the gym before the class of 2025 and SGA moderators. One by one, students presented reasons for fellow peers to select them.

“During my speech I was super excited because I had gone first, but I was always a little nervous because I was scared I was going to forget my speech or something. I love talking in public, so I was really happy I got to speak to everyone,” said Lucia Milan.

After many several speeches and a few deep breaths, the votes were in and the board chosen. President Lucia Milan, Vice-President Tommy Saud, and Secretary, Martina Ottolino have been welcomed and introduced with their new SGA job titles.

“ I was very happy and excited when my name was called up! My best friend and I both got elected, so we’re so happy we could do this together, and make this year memorable,” said Martina Ottolino.
