A Perspective from the World of Dance

My dream ever since I was little was to be a professional dancer

Dance is my favorite thing in the world, and I do it everyday

My journey started, when I was at my first school, Conchita Espinosa Academy (CEA).

When I was 2 or 3, my parents put me in both Ballet and Flamenco.

Every day after school I would go to the dance building at CEA, and I would do both dances everyday.

From that day on, I fell in love with dancing.

Then, in fourth grade, my parents took me out of CEA, and I had a very hard choice to make.

I had to pick either ballet or flamenco.

I ended up choosing flamenco.

Flamenco is a beautiful style of dance that I don’t see very often, and I really enjoy it.

I loved ballet as well, but you don’t see as many flamenco dancers as you do ballet dancers.

Every since I left CEA, I have been dancing flamenco.

My parents and I were struggling to find a studio that only offered flamenco dancing.

Then, we found Furia Flamenca.

Furia Flamenca teaches girls from 2-13 the beautiful dance of Flamenco.

I now am 16 and have finished all the classes there in that studio.

Throughout my experience in Furia Flamenca, we have done many dance shows, like “Cinderella,” two Christmas shows, “Aladdin,” and much more

Fun fact: At one of the Christmas Shows, I was the Star of Bethlehem, and received a medal for my performance.

In “Aladdin” I was the monkey, and I had to do cartwheel on stage. had to do the same show twice on the same night, and on the last show, I hurt my toe, and didn’t realize it until I got home.

Now, I am ending my journey in Furia Flamenca, I have my own solo dance, and my show is in April.

I will continue my journey as a dancer because I have no plans to stop!
