Halloween Horror Nights is back at Universal Orlando, bringing haunted houses, scare zones and late-night jumps to its guests. This year is special because 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of the event. Halloween Horror Nights began Aug. 28, and will continue on select nights through Nov. 1 at Universal Studios Florida.

This year, the park has been turned into the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares,” with 10 haunted houses and several new experiences. One of the biggest attractions is the Stranger Things house, which is based on the fifth and final season of the Netflix series. Guests can walk through scenes inspired by Hawkins and the Upside Down.

“I think the Stranger Things house is going to be one of the best because so many people already love the show,” senior Catalina Betancourt said. “It makes it more exciting to feel like you are actually inside it.”

Universal is also doing something different this year with a nighttime lagoon show called “Stranger Things: Return to Hawkins.” The show uses water screens, music and lighting to bring scenes from the series to life.

“I would definitely be scared going through the houses, but that is what makes it fun,” said senior Danielle Ramirez. “You get to scream and laugh about it with your friends after.”

Other houses are inspired by horror movies and famous names, while some are original stories created by Universal. Guests can also walk through scare zones, watch live shows and try special Halloween food.

“Halloween Horror Nights is something people look forward to every year,” said senior Carolina Castillo. “Going with friends makes the whole night more exciting.”

With its 35th anniversary, new houses and the Stranger Things experience, Halloween Horror Nights 2026 gives guests plenty to look forward to. Whether people go for the scares, the shows or just a fun night with friends, this year’s event brings another exciting Halloween season to Universal Orlando.
