Girl group KATSEYE—consisting of members Manon, Daniela, Lara, Yoonchae, Sophia, and Megan—has been taking the world by storm with their music. With songs like “Hootie Frutti,” “Internet Girl,” and “Gnarly,” they introduce a hyper-pop genre in their own unique way.
Each member, coming from different nations, contribute their own talents and cultures into the group. Elements of Spanish, Mandarin, and Korean are included in some of their songs.
As a global group, they distinctively follow K-pop structure with each of their songs including choreography, being formed through a survival show, undergoing a rigorous trainee system, and promotion on Korean music shows.
Coming from labels HYBE x Geffen, they were given a great opportunities as artists to start off with popularity even before their debut in both the K-pop industry and worldwide.
KATSEYE, currently on their Wildworld Tour, just performed in Miami October 13th at Kaseya Center.
Concert attendee and St. Patrick School student Camila Del Valle expressed her love for KATSEYE.
“They much more than just a musical group. They represent a bold new wave of global pop that blends intense K-pop training with western mainstream energy. And the music that they make just makes me feel so happy,” she said.
KATSEYE’s enthusiasm makes them stand out from others, capturing the attention of audiences.
Camila also added that she is excited to see their choreography live and how, “it must be so different seeing such dancing in person rather than on a screen.” This explains what makes a live concert special compared to simply listening online.
Sophomore Rafael Rivera expressed, “Their different backgrounds and individual personalities make the group interesting. Each member brings something different to the performances.”
Through each of their unique talents, they create a delightful blend of vocals and dance.
Music engineer and CEO of Mastermix Studios Henrique Jordan highlights how, “their dance and performance incorporates visual elements to something auditory.”
People seek excitement in music, and KATSEYE’s visual element of choreography gives exactly that.
Through their combination of music, choreography, and cultural diversity, KATSEYE exemplifies how pop music extends beyond just sound. As they brought their Wildworld Tour to Miami, local fans had the opportunity to experience their artistry first-hand.
