Horror movies have always been popular because people enjoy the feeling of being scared while watching something from the safety of their own homes. One movie that does a good job of mixing horror with action is Resident Evil. Released in 2002 and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, the movie is based on the popular video game series. Even though it came out over 20 years ago, it is still a movie series that horror fans can enjoy today.
The movie follows a woman named Alice, played by Milla Jovovich, who wakes up in a mansion with no memory of who she is or what happened to her. As the story continues, she discovers that the mansion is connected to a secret underground laboratory owned by a company called Umbrella Corporation. Things quickly become dangerous when Alice and a group of soldiers enter the laboratory and discover that a virus has turned the workers into zombies.
One thing I liked about the movie was how it kept me interested throughout the story. There were a lot of unexpected moments and scenes that made me wonder what was going to happen next. The setting also made the movie more intense because most of it takes place underground where the characters have very few ways to escape.
Another thing I enjoyed was the combination of action and horror. Instead of just focusing on zombies, the movie includes fight scenes, dangerous traps, and mysteries that the characters have to solve. Alice is also an interesting main character because she slowly starts remembering her past while trying to survive.
However, the movie definitely has some flaws. Some of the special effects look outdated compared to movies today, and certain parts of the story can be confusing. I also think some of the characters could have been developed more because it was hard to care about what happened to them.
Overall, I think Resident Evil is a pretty entertaining movie, especially for people who enjoy horror, action, and zombie movies. It might not be the scariest or most realistic movie, but it does a good job of keeping the audience interested. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 because of its action, suspense, and interesting storyline. If you are looking for something exciting to watch during October, Resident Evil is worth checking out.
