The ILS seniors will join each other for their first and last “Seniors Night Under the Stars” event on April 30th at the bay
“Seniors Night Under the Stars” is a dinner being hosted for the class of 2021 on Friday, April 30th, from 8-11pm. Seniors will have the opportunity to unite as a class one last time before graduating.

Although this year seniors were not able to have a traditional prom due to the ongoing pandemic, a sit down dinner with music was planned for them.

“I’m very excited to be all together as a class one last time before graduation,” said senior Carla Valdano. “Although we weren’t able to have an actual prom, this event will be just as special and will be a great memory,” she added.

Class moderators Mrs. Beltran and Mr. De Prada have been hard at work to produce this event for the seniors.

“Planning a different type of ‘prom’ for our ILS Seniors has definitely been a challenging and rewarding experience simply because we have had to adjust given the circumstances,” said Mr. De Prada. “The input received has allowed the administration, faculty, and parents to work together and envision a fun and safe event for them.”

ILS will be taking all safety precautions to accommodate the whole class for a sit down dinner at the bay. Each table will be composed of four seniors while socially distant, following the CDC guidelines.

SAGE dining will be catering the food for this dinner. While the menu has not be posted yet, SAGE always prepares the best food for the students and faculty.

“It has been a much different year but I’m so happy that despite the circumstances we are living in, we are able to have a sit down dinner,” said Valdano. “SAGE has been cooking for us for all four years so this is a great way to say goodbye to those who cooked such delicious meals everyday of the school years,” she added.

Following the dinner, the dance floor will be open for students to dance and sing along while having a mask on and social distancing.

“I hope that the experiences to be shared throughout this event will remind students and faculty of how La Salle is in fact a great model of the oratory where there is a home that welcomes, a church the evangelizes, a school that transforms, and a playground where people can meet and forge long lasting relationships,” said Mr. De Prada.

As seniors prepare to graduate May 24th, this a great way to begin saying their goodbyes to their forever home.
