Queen Elizabeth II is postponing her daily engagements due to positive COVID-19 results. Several people at Windsor Castle were infected last week, according to palace officials, but it is unknown who exposed her to the virus.

The palace said that Elizabeth, who has been fully vaccinated and had a booster shot, would continue with light duties at Windsor Castle over the coming weeks.Queen Elizabeth COVID update: Royal postpones Diplomatic Reception

Despite her condition, the queen did have her regularly scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson last Wednesday, the palace said. Between her coronavirus recovery and the crisis in Ukraine, there had been some doubt about whether their meeting would happen.

When officials confirmed the queen tested positive for COVID-19, concern and well wishes came from across Britain’s political spectrum.

In recent events, the queen marked 70 years on the throne on February 6. She was proclaimed queen on that date in 1952 when her father, King George VI, died following surgery for lung cancer.
