According to Forbes Health, 75 Hard is not a fitness challenge, but a “transformative mental toughness program,” created intentionally to put yourself in places that are uncomfortable in order to develop mental fortitude to become a better you.
This was Senior Gabriella Chong’s goal.
For 75 consecutive days every participant must do the following:
- Follow a diet
- Drink a gallon of water every day
- Work out twice a day for 45 minutes each, one of which must be outdoors
- Read 10 pages of a book
- Take a progress picture everyday
“I was excited to try it out,” said Gabi as she explained the beginning of her journey.
Before starting the 75-day long journey, she made sure to do the following.
- buy a half gallon water bottle
- enroll at Anatomy, make sure to have a workout set up for each day
- Start to wake up earlier
This allowed her to go straight into her routine from day one without any problems.
“I would definitely recommend researching and knowing what you want to do before starting,” Gabi explained.
Her weekly workout routine consisted of the following:
Monday: Full body
Tuesday: Back + Biceps
Wednesday: Hamstrings + Glutes
Thursday: Chest + Triceps
Friday: Back + Shoulders
Saturday: Quads + Glutes
Sunday: Cardio + Core
And, of course, this included drinking a gallon of water, sticking to a diet, reading 10-pages of a book, taking a progress photo, and making sure she did two 45- minute workouts each day.
Although tough, Gabi persevered and was determined to complete this challenge.
“It was something I wanted to do for me. To better myself,” she explained.
Gabi’s workout began June 27 and ended September 10. Although finally over, she still maintains a healthy lifestyle, and claims she owes it all to the 75 hard challenge.
The impact it has had on her life has been powerful.
“I felt a huge change in my body and started to see results. I am so happy I finished this challenge, and that I was able to inspire others to try it out themselves,” she said.
