Sebastian Debora was accepted into UCF, his dream school for the upcoming class of 2028.

“I applied early decision for Babson College. It’s a very hands-on college which has a program where you create a business and go through trials. They also have about 100 study abroad programs, and community programs as well.”

College application season has been underway  for seniors who are experiencing the stress they have before them, trying to raise their GPA and making sure every little thing in their application is perfect. On Friday, November 3, seniors were allowed to wear college sweatshirts to school to show where they aspire to go.

“I applied early decision for Babson College. It’s a very hands-on college,” expressed senior Isabella Puglisi. “FME is a program where you create a business and go through trials. They also have about 100 study abroad programs, and community programs as well.”

Ever since they were little, many seniors had a “dream school–” the university they grew up saying they were going to attend. Now, seniors have the opportunity to apply to those schools, and many have spent their whole high school career working towards their dream school.

“Belmont is my dream university. There’s a lot of connections in Nashville and I feel like it would help me a lot in my musical journey,” senior Leandra Obando said.

With college applications, seniors also start to feel stressed because many are unsure of what they want to do when they grow up. Most seniors have always known what they wanted to do but as they grow up, their interests change as do their aspirations. Some used to say they wanted to be one thing but then decided to study something else.

“I have always wanted to be a surgeon, but I also want a family so I decided to study Biomedical Engineering where I can work with medical stuff but also have a lot more free time,” said Andrea Celada.

Everyone grew up hearing the same old “follow your dreams” line. Though everyone should follow a passion, working in something you don’t enjoy would be the worst waste of time in the world. Some seniors have given up on those yet found other careers that work within it or are somehow connected. While this is a very stressful time of year for all seniors, there is no doubt that they will all be incredibly successful in whatever they decide to do.
