Media Students Experience FSPA and CBS 4 News Studios

April has been a Busy Month for LTV and the Royal Courier
The team at CBS 4 has to monitor many moving parts to keep up with day-to-day news. “I thought the CBS field trip was an exceptional experience that has definitely brought me closer to a journalistic career. ILS students appeared at the end of the CBS 4 news 12 noon broadcast for the day. “I was able to see how important communication is to getting the news out to the community, the entire team had to work together and communicative effectively to all do their part,” said junior Brecelis Valdes. “FSPA was an incredibly memorable event filled with learning and new experiences. People came from schools all over Florida! Everyone there was extremely motivated to make their school proud of their work. Mrs. Molina truly created an unforgettable experience by bringing us to FSPA. Ms. Cristina Ramirez
Ms. Ramirez is in her third year advising the Royal Courier and her second advising iNklings, the literary magazine. She serves as Media Department Chair at ILS, collaborating with LTV and Signum yearbook. Having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism at Loyola University, New Orleans, followed by a Master of Science in Student Media Advising, she has been involved in publications since middle school at St. Timothy where she was Editor in Chief of the paper, going on to become a Features Editor in high school and eventually Editor in Chief for the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. Before coming to ILS, she advised the newspaper at yearbook at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School for nine and six years, respectively.
