With the school year coming to around halfway done, some seniors may start to behave lazily given many have already been accepted into he college of their choice. This common, nationwide phenomenon is often referred to as Senioritis.
Some of the most common symptoms of Senioritis include showing up late more often than not, not finishing their assignments on time, or worse, not completing assignments at all.
Seniors still have their responsibility towards their grades. Believe it or not, many universities ask to see a senior’s final grades so even if a senior has been accepted into a particular institution of higher learning, that college has the option to rescind their initial offer of acceptance.
Though theoretically seniors have been they accepted into college they should still finish high school strong since it will look better on their transcript if they end up with a solid GPA. Potentially dropping substantially below their college of acceptance’s requirements, as mentioned earlier, may severely jeopardize their chances of admission or lessen their ability to register for competitive courses.
Slacking off during senior year may seem tempting and rather ordinary, but left untreated, Seniorities could result in a disappointing outcome for some, especially those who were very excited about getting into a selective institution.
Remember seniors, just because you have been in high school for a while doesn’t mean you don’t have to play by the rules.
As at many high schools, seniors receive a certain degree of privileges which can also be at risk if they do not adhere to proper school protocols which simply mean they firmly abide by the rules.
High school isn’t over yet, seniors, and you also have to set a high standard for the rest of us to follow in your footsteps. As the designated ILS leaders, we expect you to keep trying your hardest and working at your best.
