ILS Dance Team Holds Fundraiser at Shake Shack

Immaculata-La Salle’s Lionettes held a fundraiser at Shake Shack to help support the team. On February 23, 2021 ILS students and teachers were invited to pick up some food at Shake Shack to help with the costs ILS’s dance team faces.

The Lionettes dance team sent out an email inviting the ILS community to show support at the Shake Shack in Coral Gables on 1450 S. Dixie Highway. The email was also stating to make sure to use the code DONATION on the Shake Shack APP, Website or Kiosk when checking out and 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the Lionettes.

Mrs. De Arce, head coach of the team, stated that the purpose behind this fundraiser was “to help with additional costs that the dance team might be faced with.  All parents pay for their daughters to be part of dance but we try to offset some of those expenses through. fundraising.”

Among the expenses for participating and competing on the dance team are: competition fees, costumes, choreography, studio time, intensives and more. Although the team has yet to receive the official number of money made from this event, according to team member, Josie Novo, it would definitely be considered successful because every bit helps.

This fundraiser is just one of the efforts the team is making to rise to greatness. The team has been, and will continue to sacrifice their weekends to practice and train. March is a busy month for the Lionettes with competition dates set for March 26th and the 27th.

The Lionettes won’t stop until they walk home with 1st place at their upcoming competitions, as last year was a close call. Unfortunately for the team, last year they were given 2nd place.

The teams hard work and dedication will continue to pay off this season.
