Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have officially called it quits. JLo, the musician and actress, and ARod, an Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, were a couple since 2017. They called off their two-year engagement and will focus on remaining friends.

After weeks of speculation of the couple splitting, it has now been confirmed. While waiting to have their dream wedding take place, they decided to call it quits because it wasn’t working out anymore. They released a joint statement:

We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.

“Everyone saw this coming because her marriages usually never last and after seeing them have fights, it was evident they would soon split,” said senior Isabella Guardazzi.

They released a joint statement saying “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.”

Jlo and Arod were known as a power couple, and first began dating in 2017 and became engaged in 2019.

“They were together for a quiet a long time, they seemed so happy together with their kids and their lifestyle in Miami,” said senior Carla Valdano.

The couple were originally set to marry last year in a lavish ceremony in Italy, but ultimately canceled the ceremony due to gathering restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. They both have children, but from previous marriages. They did not have any children together.

There are many speculations that their split came after “trust issues” from both parts.

Last week, the pair was seen having their first dinner together after they confirmed their split.

After a few weeks since their split in early April, Lopez has been seen with her ex from years ago which has now caused a stir up in social media.
