Parking Pass Should be for Seniors Only

Isabella Black, Editor

Juniors and seniors received an email indicating that the first 50 seniors who signed up would secure a parking spot. Fair enough, right? Seniors left out in the cold by the process and their parents requested a clarification.

Seniors realize there are limited spaces, and as such should understand that no one is entitled to a parking spot in the coveted senior lot. Getting a parking spot by our beautiful bay, while much farther from the exit, at least offers a lovely view.

Given that high school is a hierarchy with freshmen at the bottom, and sophomores and juniors in the middle,  why would juniors even qualify for the same benefits as seniors?

If there were more parking spots available, then certainly juniors could be considered in the mix. But since there are not, seniors should be the sole students given the opportunity to apply for a parking spot because what every student looks forward to at any school, not just ILS,  are the perks that come with being a senior. Having a parking spot is definitely one of them.
