Best known for her work on films like Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina and Beauty and the Beast, Jacquline Duran was the costume designer for Spencer. The historical drama, based on the life of the late Princess Diana, has the most beautiful costumes ever seen.

Duran created original garments that mirror the iconic style of Princess Diana, without replicating anything she wore. Her aura was completely encased in every single costume.

This was extremely important when working on a film about Princess Diana because of the impact she made on contemporary fashion as well as how she defied the English crown through her fashion choices.

Chanel also played a role in creating pieces for Spencer. Princess Diana wore a fair amount of Chanel in her time and Kristen Stuart, who played Princess Diana in the picture, is the house’s ambassador. This made their collaboration that much more meaningful.

A strikingly similar gown of the iconic, Karl Lagarfeld– Chanel’s creative director– original cream dress is worn by Stuart in the film. Chanel recreated it in order to secure the safety of the gown.

Fashion was a huge part of the film which is fitting because of Princess Diana’s love for the art. The movie would have not been complete without it.
