Walsworth Publishing selected Signum as an exemplary work.

Ms. Cristina Ramirez, Adviser

Last year, members of Signum yearbook worked despite the odds, gathering so many names in a school with over 800 students and well over 100 teachers plus staff, yet the yearbook class had only 14 students.

“It is an accomplishment to know we’ve been given an award and that all our hard work paid off,” said senior Gabriela Escobar.

Escobar feels that with the knowledge she gained last year, as this his her second in yearbook, she has been able to help all of her classmates who, unlike her, are taking the class for the first time.

“I helped guide other students with their spreads and how to use Photoshop,” added Escobar.

Adviser Ms. Giovana Spencer celebrates a victory with the team (minus the seniors) who worked on the yearbook last year.

Ms. Giovana Spencer, who is serving in her seventh year as yearbook adviser, was very pleased.

“Our yearbook sets the standard for scholastic journalism. We demonstrated mastery of key elements that make up a yearbook,” she explained.

The Signum yearbook is currently being displayed at workshops. In addition, it will receive prominence as it is highlighted at regional and national conventions.

“This is a huge achievement for this team for their hard work, dedication, and talent. #goroyals,” Ms. Spencer said enthusiastically.
