Girls JV Soccer learning on job vs Ransom
November 19, 2019
On Tuesday November 12th, the girls JV soccer team kicked off their season playing their first home game against rival Ransom Everglades. This year’s girls JV soccer team is inexperienced, and that showed in the 3-0 loss to the Raiders.
This year the soccer coach decided to split the team up into jv and varsity, which opened up an opportunity for anybody to come out and play.
The girls jv soccer team allows students that have little to no experience in soccer to play.
“Unfortunately soccer has become an elited sport in Miami, and I had to switch that so I brought girls on, allowed them to play and they had never played a soccer game in their life. I was happy and they were too,” said coach Anthony Vuono.
Many of these girls were able to play their first soccer match ever.
Although they lost, they had a great time and an awesome first experience. “We may have lost but they had fun, and that’s the most important part,” said coach Vuono.
This first game allowed the team to learn how to work better together. It was a learning experience for all.
“The girls learned that they got to work a little harder and give a little more, but mostly they learned about themselves and how to compete,” said Vuono.
Come out and support the girls JV soccer team on there next match on Wednesday November 20, the more support the better!
