Valentine’s Day DIYs
February 11, 2020
Valentine’s Day can be a pretty stressful day. Whether you have a significant-other or not, it is always good to show those around you some love. With these simple and fun ideas, there is no need to be worried.
Cards can be a great way to show creativity, and include a heartfelt note. They are a simple and easy way to gift give. For this first DIY, you will need a piece of construction paper of your choice, and another piece in red or pink.
First, cut and fold the first piece of construction paper until it resembles the shape of a card, and then grab your red and pink papers and cut them into heart shapes. To make the card pop, fold the paper hearts down the middle and glue them on the front of the card.
These paper hearts can be turned into a bouquet by gluing multiple on the cover and adding stems coming down, or you can even add something witty by arranging the hearts in a line and drawing a tick-tak-toe table around them, and writing “You won my heart.”
The rest is up to your own creativity. Add a note, a gift card, or even a cute picture to go inside. If you are in a time crunch, this simple card is easy to make, and it requires materials that are probably already in your home.
If you are looking for something more intricate, a Valentine’s-themed desert won’t let any foodie
down. It will also bring back memories from elementary school where treats were passed around class, and anyone can look forward to this.
“Valentine’s “Day desserts are the one thing I look forward to every year because I’m single, and anytime someone gives me chocolates, I feel a little more loved,” said senior Dominique Gonzalez.
Here is how to take an easy boxed brownie recipe and add some pizzaz to it.
- Take your choice of boxed brownies and bake until ready.
- Once the brownies have cooled off, add red food dye to a carton of icing. For pink, add only a few drops, and for red, add as much as needed.
- Lastly, heat up the mixtures in a microwave safe dish and drizzle onto the brownies as desired, and for something extra, throw on a few heart-shaped sprinkles .
When you are done, they should look like they have been kissed by Cupid, and serve to all your loved ones
