Campus Ministry plays a significant role in enhancing the spiritual dimension of ILS’s community. It offers students various avenues for spiritual growth, including retreats and programs like ETC, Ignite, Cornerstone, RCIA, Athletic Ministry, and Music Ministry. The dedicated team behind Campus Ministry comprises of Mrs. Milly Beltran, Ms. Maritere Manso, and Mr. Julio Soriano. Through their guidance and leadership, students are provided with meaningful opportunities to deepen their spiritual connections and engage in enriching experiences.

Campus Ministry programs foster a sense of community and personal development, allowing individuals to explore their faith and values in a supportive environment. Campus Ministry’s influence resonates throughout ILS, contributing to the holistic development of its students and creating a vibrant, spiritually-grounded atmosphere on campus.

Part of being in Campus Ministry is bringing Christ into everything we do.

— Mrs. Milly Beltran

Campus Ministry does not only plan religious retreats for the students of ILS, they also reach out to middle schoolers in Miami-Dade parochial schools. A recent retreat from earlier this year was ETC—the very popular retreat for juniors and seniors, known for its intense“emotional rollercoaster.”

“I love seeing the growth in my students’ maturity after retreats,” said Mr. Nicholas Shaheen.

ILS’s Campus Ministry works tooth and nail setting up their projects. From looking for correct days for each retreat to finding the right person to lead a retreat, nothing is left to chance. All of it is very meticulous—none of it is simple.

On the other hand, part of the reason this job is so gratifying is because of how it affects the students. For some students the effects of a retreat may last a week and for some it lasts their whole life. A great example of the OLR retreat lasting a great deal of time is alumni Santi Quiros who has changed his life around just to be closer to God.
