Autumn is the season when the temperature begins to drop, pumpkin spice and cinnamon fill the air, and orange, red, yellow, and brown make their debut.

With the sweater weather arriving, it’s time to trade tank-tops and shorts for flannel and boots.

It can be a struggle to pick out what to wear, so to make it easier, here are some of the 2021 fall fashion trends.

Knitted sweaters
If you’re going for that cozy fall look, knitted wear is your go-to. It’s hard not to want to take a nap while wearing these blanket-like sweaters. They come in different fits: chunky, slim, oversized, and button up. They’re perfect for staying in or going out for daily activities.

“Knitted sweaters are super trendy right now. I see them all over my Pinterest. I find them to be really cute and comfortable. I have a few sweaters that are knitted and I can’t wait to wear them for fall” said senior Maria Nepa.

The Perfect Pair of Jeans
Jeans seem to never go out of style. The most convenient part about jeans is the fact that they come in many different types including: bell bottoms, mom jeans, low rise, slim fit, high rise, ripped, baggy etc. Jeans always match with anything because of their simple dark or light wash blue tint. The variety of ways to pair them with other clothing like simple tops and sweaters makes them a must-have piece in everyone’s wardrobe.

“I have these dark wash jeans that I thrifted from Good Will and they fit perfectly on me. They pair really well with neutral color tops. I’ll definitely be wearing them for fall now that I don’t have to wear jeans shorts all the time ,” said senior Brianna Ramos.

Sweat Sets
The perfect airport outfit for the holidays, or going for coffee are sweat sets. Matching sets are the easiest for cute and comfy looks. You can pair this outfit with some sneakers like Adidas or Nike’s. Popular set styles are neutral colored ones like beige or brown, but you can also go for more vibrant sets. Some have detailing or prints, and others are monochromatic. Regardless of your personal style, a matching set is always a good idea.

“Sweats and a comfy sweater is my go-to outfit for staying in and watching Netflix or chilling with my friends. I usually pair the outfit with comfortable sneakers,” said junior Sara Valdes.

Leather Jackets
A leather jacket is a timeless staple that should make it’s way into everyone’s closet. Leather jackets really bring a simple outfit to the next level with their edgy style. For the fall, you can pair one with a thin, long sleeve top or cropped T-shirt for the daytime look. If you’re going for the fancy dinner look, pair it with a patterned dress.

“I personally think leather completes an outfit. I like the edge it gives. I’d pair it with a cute dress, black tights, and black boots,” said senior Ivana Major.

Boots
Boots get the most use out of them when the weather becomes chilly. A perfect example for warm boots would be Ugg boots; they keep your feet warm with their fuzzy texture. Trendy boots are Doc Martins because of their simple black color that come in high and low top styles. Red boots can give your outfit a pop of color and knee high, healed boots can bring your outfit to the next level.

“My favorite boots to wear in the fall are black, knee high boots,” said sophomore Megan Dominguez.

“For the fall I like wearing black Doc Martins because they pair really well with outfits,” said sophomore Eugenia Paris.

Now that you’ve gotten a glimpse into some of the fall fashion trends of 2021, you have an idea of what to wear this season. Put on those grandma, knitted sweaters and mom jeans and add a leather jacket to spice it up. The fall season is waiting for you to walk on its runway.
