Miami is notorious for being relatively hot with people always visiting the beach for “summer” activities in the winter. However, some of us aren’t completely prepared for such “cold” weather. By cold weather, I’m talking about 48 to 68 degrees C. Here’s some essentials you should consider investing before it gets colder.

  1. Puffer jackets:

Puffer jackets is like having 2 in 1. You get the perfect amount of coverage since they have synthetic fibers that help keep you warm. On the other side, they’re extremely stylish and go with pretty much any outfit you can think of. The best stores that you can get these from are Zara, H&M, Alo Yoga and many more.

2. Knit sweaters:

Recently, I’ve been seeing a lot of people wearing knit sweaters with different designs, colors and styles. These sweaters are staple items for your closet, meaning that you can style them with pretty much anything and can wear them on any occasion. They are perfect for dressing down and dressing up. You can buy them at Zara, Nordstrom, American Eagle, and also H&M.

3. Oversized hoodies:

One thing I’m sure we can all agree on is that everyone owns at least one hoodie. However, having the right ones is perfect for winter season and cold weather, so you can style them and layer them in the correct way. It’s essential to have at least three solid colored hoodies, for instance black, white and beige. You can even have hoodies with cool designs and logos to add edge to your outfit. You can get simple hoodies in stores like Zara and Revolve, but other brands like Boys Lie and Aviator Nation have designs on their pieces if that’s more your style.

4. High top shoes

There are endless options of shoes you can wear when it’s cold. Some people decide to wear Dr. Martens boots; others wear simple high top sneakers like Commes Des Garçons or even Air Jordans ,and others wear more comfortable shoes like Yeezys. The options are endless, though. It all depends on your style. Some people are inclined to the more “preppy” style; others are inclined to the “street wear” style, and still others prefer basic and simple styles.

    5. Bottoms:

When talking about wearing the correct bottoms for cold weather, I would recommend simple jeans, sweatpants and leggings. The best part about owning these pieces is that you can wear them in any way you want, with anything you want. However, the most important thing is finding the perfect item. Princess Polly sells super stylish bottoms for cold weather. Nordstrom, Revolve and Zara do as well.

Now that I’ve recommended a few clothing pieces for when it’s cold, it’s crucial to know that you can wear the most basic jeans with the most basic top and still manage to look good. It’s all about owning the right pieces and putting them together in the best way possible. So remember, go to stores like Zara and H&M to find the perfect cold weather essentials, and if you prefer online shopping, search in Princess Polly and even Revolve to find your ideal (and economic) winter pieces.
