At the back to school Mass, Father Jesus wore red because it symbolizes blood and passion in remembrance of Christian martyrs such as St.Cornelius, a Roman priest who died in 253  who served as pope from 251 to 253 during a lull in the persecution of Christians.

Along with his blood, Christ’s passion also represents his

passion

To thank the Lord for the gift of education and thank him that we are back safely for another year

We have this Mass to entrust the new school year to the Lord

— Father Jesus

The Pentecost, Good Friday, Palm Sunday, etc are the masses where the priests where red in the church

Red may also be worn for the funeral Mass of a Cardinal

In my opinion, I love this Mass, because we get to come closer to God, come together as a school, see all my friends again, pray for the new upcoming school year, and really just give all our intentions to God

At Mass we also celebrated students who achieved Academic Distinction, as well as those who received first and second honor roll from the four quarter of last year.

If you want to find out more of the people who achieved Academic Distinction, you can check out the announcement, Congratulations to Students Who Achieved Academic Distinction in the Royal Courier.

This Mass was preceded the first gym yearbook distribution since before the pandemic making it very special in a way for the sophomores because it was their very first yearbook here at ILS.

The Mass was a beautiful get-together as a school with amazing music and so much to celebrate
